How it works

Questions

How long are files kept on TempFiles?

You choose: 1 hour, 6 hours, 24 hours or 48 hours. When the time is up the file is permanently deleted from our storage. You can also delete it earlier with "Delete Now".

Do I need an account to upload?

No. Upload, get a link, share it. Your recent uploads are remembered in your own browser under "My files".

What is the maximum file size?

Up to 100 MB per file. You can upload several files at once and they will share one link.

Can I protect a file with a password?

Yes. Add an optional password before uploading. Anyone opening the link must enter it before they can download. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes.

Are files scanned for viruses?

No. Virus scanning is not currently available. Files have not been checked for malware. Risky file types such as .bat, .vbs or .scr are not accepted.

Is TempFiles free?

Yes. TempFiles is free to use and supported by ads.

Is there an API?

Yes. Send a multipart POST to /api/v1/upload with a "file" field and optional "expire" (seconds) and "password". The full OpenAPI description is at /openapi.json.

What files are not allowed?

Malware, phishing, illegal content, child sexual abuse material, copyrighted material without permission and other content listed in our Terms. Report abuse with the link on any file page.
